Inversion Sketch I

Similar to Inversion Sketch III, this sketches uses a combination of white paper, black ink, black and white coloured pencil, and black thread to create a high-contrast drawing of a stick on a textured background.

The salt-and-ink wash creates an atmospheric setting for this stylized stick. 7 paper sections are machine-stitched together to create a disjointed, but unified, piece. After rejoining this paper, a layer of gesso, followed by a layer of ink, followed by drawn details creates the structure of the stick.
