Inversion Sketch III

This sketches uses a combination of white paper, black ink, black and white coloured pencil, and black thread to create a high-contrast drawing of three sticks on a textured background.

The salt-and-ink wash creates an atmospheric setting for these stylized sticks. 9 paper sections are machine-stitched together to create a disjointed, but unified, piece. After rejoining this paper, a layer of gesso, followed by a layer of ink, followed by drawn details creates the structure of these sticks.
