Coiled, Then Recoiled

This painting explores the idea of self-sabotage and the attempt at control over this impulse. The snake represents an inner vindictiveness, controlled by a group of hands that appear from an undetermined source to control the beast. Mirroring the image of the snake, the arm coils around the figure’s head, blocking the senses and ability to interact with external influences.
